The randomness of life.

I never really bothered before but just now, as I stared at the computer screen tentatively at the blog page, I was overcome by a sudden ephemeral... Okay, not exactly an ephemeral. I realized the font of this page is... err... How do I put this nicely...
Not pretty?
Oh, come on! Burgundy and shocking pink just don't go together well. It's like matching Kaoru and Hikaru. Just plain wrong.
So, Elle... You do your thing!
Right. Now that I've put forth my *cough* mandatory *cough* opinion about our font colour, I'm going to rant on about the latest book I had read. Otherwise known as giving a book review.
Which was the job I was assigned for when registering on this site. Only I never really did come around to do it because life had other plans for me. And I was lazy. *cough*
Okay, first of all, the book I had just recently read was entitled Sweet Valley High: Double Love, which, when I browsed through the net about it, is very much a famous book. Only I never really did know it. Guess I really have been living under a shell. Well, in my case, a house but that is not my point.
The point is, the book was very good.
If you are a chic-lit kind of person and enjoy high school drama and supposedly gorgeous characters that is.
The story revolved around two twins who are the splitting image for each other (DUH! Their TWINS). But that was where the similarity ended. Elizabeth and Jessica, who's personality differ like black and white, the sky and earth, the sun and moon and all the other metaphors existing, rendered them to different cliques. Nevertheless, their relationship was as good as any other relationship average siblings would have. Which consisted of arguing over trivial matters and borrowing clothes without permission.
So the story started of with smart, sweet and ever the nice Elizabeth who had always been the one to give in with whatever petty things she and Jessica both wanted. But when Jessica started to go sly and b****y where a certain dashing Todd was concerned, she had to draw the line there. So the war began.
Okay, so there was no war. Which really sucked because you want to know what really happened?
READ THE BOOK.
Just kidding.
Elizabeth remained oblivious whilst Jessica slandered her twin and name dropped Elizabeth into the topic of everyone's gossip. Yeah, and she had to be one of the most annoying character which I had to read about. Cunning and somewhat cold-hearted, she was still loved by her peers and family. And Elizabeth. Can you effing believe it? I was really hoping she would be sentenced to a whole life of ostracization or the likes of it but no, she got wet instead following Elizabeth's so called revenge. The wonders of dumb people.
Anyway, overall, the book was worth my time. If it weren't this thing won't be on this web. It gave me some new rough outlines on my novel. IDEAS! Not plagiarism.
Oh, and there's a sequel. Something about being Homecoming Queen and all that trivial stuff. But, hey, if it spells chic-lit, I'm all up for it.
My next book project will be on Sherlock Holmes' complete collection. I'm not sure whether or not to give a book review since it's like, way famous already. We'll see...
TTFN,
Miss Hope
P/s: Elle, REMEMBER! The colours don't match!
Pp/s: Sometimes, what you always perceived and thought was true aren't always what they seem. It's like what they always say; Seeing isn't always believing.
